Stump Grinding & Removal
Ground below grade so you can sod, plant, or build over it — including the root flare and surface roots a chainsaw leaves behind.
Below the grade, not level with it
Cutting a stump flush with the ground leaves the entire root system in place. It keeps sprouting, it feeds rot and carpenter ants in the soil right beside your house, and it is still in the way if you want to plant or pour anything there.
We grind the stump and root flare well below grade so the area can be levelled and reseeded. You decide whether the chips stay as backfill or get hauled off and topped with soil.
- Below-grade grinding — Deep enough to sod, plant, or build over
- Surface root removal — Roots that lift sod and catch mower blades
- Backfill or haul-away — Chips left as fill, or removed and topped with soil
- Tight access — Equipment that fits through a standard yard gate
- Utility locates — Called in before grinding starts, every time

Why the stump is worth dealing with
- Suckers keep coming back from the root system
- It blocks a fence line, deck, or garden bed
- Surface roots are catching the mower
- Rot in the stump is drawing insects close to the house
- You want grass or a new tree where it stands
